The Wilton Windmill Society volunteers cannot operate and maintain the Windmill alone – we work with a number of organisations which we belong to or who help us with grant funds, advice and support.  We are very grateful for their help and it is only with that help that we are able to keep Wilton Windmill in good order and open to the public.

Wilton Windmill is a member of the Pewsey Vale Tourism Partnership – Visit Pewsey Vale – which focuses on the visitor economy in the Pewsey Vale.

The Visit Pewsey Vale website contains lots of information local to the Windmill, including walking and cycling routes, places to stay, eat and drink, as well as places to visit.

Wilton Windmill is situated in the heart of the beautiful North Wessex Downs.

We work with the team at the North Wessex Downs National Landscape to ensure that we maintain this spectacular part of the country.

The North Wessex Downs have supported the Windmill in many projects over the years, including the creation of this website.  We are enormously grateful for their help and enthusiasm at all times!

Wilton Windmill Society has worked with the team at VisitWiltshire for many years in the promotion of the Windmill as a destination for visitors to the county.

Wild camping is sleeping in your tent in the wilderness. This helps to restore your senses and benefits you physiologically and psychologically by living closely with nature, respecting nature and leaving no trace.  And nature will fill you with gratitude in return.

Stay at Wild Camping Dark Lane and combine this with a short walk to beautiful Wilton Windmill and soak up the solitude of the wonderfully unspoilt Vale of Pewsey.

Wiltshire Council is the owner of Wilton Windmill.  We work closely with them and an operating agreement between the Council and The Wilton Windmill Society means that the day to day running, maintenance, promotion, open days and opening times are all organised by The Wilton Windmill Society volunteers.

The Pewsey Area Board, which is the local council body, has supported the Windmill with grants over the years and we are, as always, very grateful for their help.

The Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust worked with and assisted the Wilton Windmill Society in the restoration of the windmill and they continue to help us with advice and direction.
