Group Visits and Venue Hire and Private Tours:
Firstly, Wilton Windmill offers a unique setting for your group visit and venue hire! Secondly, it’s great for team building events too! Thirdly, how cool is it to have personalised guided tours just for your group? Most importantly, you’ll benefit from more time for questions and wandering around. In summary, we host primary and secondary schools, hikers, Brownies and Scout groups, treasure hunters, vintage car rallies, photography groups, history groups and amature radio fans – you get the idea!
Charges:
Group visits can be from 4 people to 50 people. There’s a minimum charge of £25 towards the upkeep of the mill. We’ll agree appropriate fees for other activities.
Keep Fit or Chill Out:
Why not try hiking to the windmill from the local area? Or maybe walk from the station at Great Bedwyn? Perhaps include the windmill in a circular walk around the local area? Why not bring your own picnic or perhaps visit one of the local pubs – The Swan in Wilton is highly recommended – or combine your visit with a walk or drive over to Crofton Beam Engines as well and enjoy a meal at the Engineman’s Rest cafe. In conclusion, the perfect day out!
Location, Location, Location:
Unsurprisingly, beautiful Wilton Windmill frequently features in magazines and films. Wilton Windmill has been used for a number of films and TV and radio programmes. These range from a Bollywood film to the BBC’s Victorian Farm Christmas Special. Moreover, it’s an ideal location for dark skies and star gazing! Just the most photogenic building for keen photographers! Wilton Windmill frequently appears on the local BBC weather too!
