2012 DATES
FOR YOUR DIARY!
Sunday 26th February - Pre-Season Cleaning Day
Come and join us in getting the windmill ready for the 2012 season!
We meet at 10am and are finished by lunchtime. Open to all members,
friends and any new volunteers, this is a jolly affair although you do get
pretty grubby. Bring dustpans, brushes, rubber gloves and any other
useful cleaning products and implements. A drink at The Swan
afterwards is promised to anyone still having the energy at the end.
Please let Sue Challen know if you are planning to come along.
Saturday 7th April - First Day of the 2012 Season
Our first day of the new season, we'll be open from 2pm to 5pm for
refreshments and guided tours. We will also be open on Easter Sunday
and Easter Monday. A busy weekend - we hope to see you there!
Saturday 12th May & Sunday 13th May - Mills on Air Weekend
Wilton Windmill is host to an amateur radio station from about 9am on both
days. Colin G4GBP and some friends will be communicating with the
amateur radio fraternity and telling them all about Wilton Windmill as
part of the Mills on Air weekend, an event supported by the
Society for the Preservation of Ancient Buildings. Everyone is
welcome to come and see the amateur radio in action and
more information can be found here. Please note that the shop,
refreshments, loos and guided tours will be available only during our
normal opening hours (Sunday 2pm to 5pm).
May Open Day
Please note that we will not be holding the annual open day this year as
it will clash with the Jubilee Celebrations. All the usual fun of
the fair will be instead take place at the Heritage Open Day in September.
We apologise for any disappointment our decision may cause.
Saturday 8th September - Heritage Open Day 1.30pm to 4.30pm
Join us for a celebration of our wonderful heritage with traditional
entertainment, free entry to the windmill and delicious refreshments.
Part of the national Heritage Open Days Weekend. More details to
follow.
