The famous Circular Walk

posted in: Things to do, Walking 0

This is one of the loveliest walks in the county, taking you from Wilton Windmill round via Crofton Beam Engines and Wilton Water.

It’s about 1.5 miles long and takes you from the Windmill through Wilton village, past Wilton Water, along the Kennet & Avon canal and back up the Roman road to the Windmill (or the other way round!).

Wilton is in a conservation area and so the village is very pretty with cottages set around a duck pond.  The Swan Inn in Wilton is the perfect place to warm up on a cold day in front of the fire or cool down on a hot day out in the beer garden.  The food is delicious, the staff welcoming and local brews are served.  Children and dogs are very welcome too!

You can download detailed directions so you can print them off and take them with you.
